Shoelace strings and I often clash. When they become undone for the umpteenth time in a day, they typically get in the way when I’m walking along from Point A to Point B. Many times, I end up tripping or breaking something due to my pesky shoelaces. Sometimes, what I end up breaking are the strings themselves because they’re so cheap, and because I have to replace them so often, I end up buying more cheap shoelace strings. And since they’re made out of cotton, they stain fairly easily and look worn and grody in just a matter of weeks. It’s a hassle that could easily be corrected if I bought better quality shoelaces. So when I heard about zip laces, which I learned to be good quality and durable, I was intrigued.
Zip up sneakers truly have unique shoe laces. Initially, I thought these were just shoes that replace shoelaces altogether and have a zipper in the front to close up your shoes. But then I proved to be incorrect. These are zip laces, which are essentially shoelaces made out of zipper halves. The zip laces are strung in the holes of sneakers like usual shoelaces. At the top, where you typically tie your strings, is a zipper handle. You simply pull the handle up and your shoes are tightened for ready-to-go wear. It’s fairly ingenious and very effective.
These shoes aren’t just sneakers for adults. If there’s a type of lace-up shoe you’re into, then it probably has zip laces, for all ages and sizes. Try converses, sneakers, boots, the list goes on. The sizes vary from baby to adult, so anyone can use these. I would even recommend these for kids who haven’t learned how to tie their shoes the traditional way yet. To transition out of Velcro shoes and prepare them for regular shoes, they can use zip up sneakers to get used to shoe strings without fumbling clumsily trying to learn how to tie knots.
Another advantage is they function just as regular shoes, so you can use them for just about any activity. Imagine using them for sports. Whenever I play soccer, I spend a good amount of time putting on footwear and shin protection. Having laces that zip up would save me a lot of time, and I would spare even more time not having to worry about my laces falling out when I’m in the middle of the action.
In short, zip up shoes are a novel invention that are both practical and cool. I’d be proud to sport these shoes anywhere, and I believe I would save myself money on all those cheap shoelaces I typically break. Plus, I know I would look unique and ahead of the curve fashion-wise. For quality, practical shoes that are also fun to wear, I’d definitely go with these.
