What did the human race do before MP3 players, CD's, tapes, 8 tracks, records or other music playing devices? It is certainly hard to imagine driving in a car without a radio or shopping without soft music playing over the store speakers. Can you imagine how boring a movie chase scene would be without the driving music in the background? Modern recording devices allow us to have the best music with us everywhere we go.
The first music making machine ever invented is our own voices. Throughout history, men and women sang to pass the time. Farmers sang in the fields, mothers sang as they cared for their children, and even big, tough miners would fill the resonant mining cabins with their song. Music is not a modern invention, we just allow others to make it for us now.
Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone found their own voice? Instead of T.V. reality shows that vote off all but the best, wouldn't it be wonderful if we were encouraging ALL to find their voice? Think of the camaraderie that exists in the old Irish Pubs where strangers became friends as they shared a song. Think of all of the babies that are put at ease by the sound of their mother's voice. Sharing our voice can bring great pleasure!
It is the intention of JVstudios to help anyone and everyone find their own voice. Some students have gone on to sing and perform at the highest levels. Others have simply learned to love the sound of their own voice. Many students have gone on to teach others the importance of finding joy in using their own voice to make beautiful music.
How do you find your own voice? Take advantage of local voice teachers who can help you develop your own sound. If that isn't a possibility for you, then just sing! Sing with the radio, sing by yourself or attend a Karaoke event. Where ever you go, whatever you do, just sing and do not compare your rare voice with someone else. Voices are like faces, every one is beautiful in its own way and should be enjoyed, not envied!
JVstudios hopes that you will find the voice within you and that it will bring great joy and peace into your life and the lives of those around you!
