It is always amazing the new and beautiful ways to create an unforgettable wedding. This past June I was introduced to a new way to create an heirloom bouquet. This Brooch Bouquet had been composed of jewelry given to the bride by girl friends, brides maids, mother, grandmother, aunts and even in-laws to be. One brooch had been worn by the bride's great-grandmother at her wedding and was featured in a central location.
Understanding the term "brooch bouquet" was difficult for me until I saw a photo and then began doing research on how to create these for my own store. After much practice I was able to make my first display to show bridal houses and future brides that would shop for their own wedding. Each individual brooch, earring, cuff link or pendant has to be wired and taped. Then time has to be taken to decide how best to place each piece to show off the composition. When each piece of jewelry is in place it's time to trim with ribbon and other embellishments of the bride's choice.
The bridal bouquet is just the beginning for the use of your heirloom jewelry. Cake toppers, wristlets for mother's of the bride and groom and even smaller carrying pieces for the brides maids can be created.
I love the idea behind the brooch bouquet. It is a way to have a one of a kind, heirloom carrying piece that the bride can treasure and then pass to her own daughter in the future or can be used as a decorative centerpiece in the bride's new home.
Whether the bride chooses an entire bouquet composed of jewelry or just important pieces placed among fresh flowers, the Heirloom Bouquet is a great way to include the past with the event of the present. They are the perfect accent to any style of dress and can be as individual as each bride that orders one.
