Supporting Our Nation by Jewelry Made in USA

When I think back on the past London Olympics, I swell with pride when I consider how well the United States athletes did in their respective athletic events.  Michael Phelps and Gabby Douglas are just a few names that come to mind when I think of the gold medals earned in these competitions.  I was full of pride for what the US had accomplished until I heard about their uniforms in the Opening Ceremonies.  Not only did our athletes look like they were school girls and boys from France, but the uniforms were made in another country.  Many American people were enraged that designer Ralph Lauren’s uniforms were manufactured in China, our rival on so many different levels.  Some American Congressmen even went so far to propose burning the uniforms afterwards!

To avoid controversies like this, I prefer my products that I use to be made in the USA.  I would so much rather contribute to homegrown businesses instead of sending profits to companies overseas and boosting their home’s economy.  I am particularly wary of countries that could pose a huge military threat to us with more and more funding coming into its nation.  The USA is definitely giving money to China.  China is number three in the list of countries we send exports to.  The US imports Chinese goods four times the amount in dollars we export to their country.  And I should also mention China not only prospers by trading with us, but already has over a billion consumers.  These are not statistics that benefit us.  I believe we should consider home based business and trading.

When it comes to the products necklaces, bracelets, earrings, elegant costume jewelry, and more, I prefer jewelry made in USA.  This is truly one of a kind jewelry because it relies on American craftsmanship and unique  talent found here.  And not to sound too puffed up, but after the Olympics, I believe America is top of the line and with its talent, manufacturers can create great products on American grounds.  Jewelry made in USA not only proves what we’re made of, but contributes to building up our own economy.  Since there is so much demand for jewelry on the fashion market, there could be several manufacturers and factories producing jewelry, supplying people with jobs and increasing state revenues.  Some may say that we cut costs by outsourcing factory workers, but I say we could only win by helping our economy.  For saving our nation’s financial system and avoiding giving other nations profits, I stand by products made and sold in the USA.
