If you are like most people in America, you know that your mornings are usually quite hectic. You press your snooze button a few too many times. You spill something on your clothes so you have to run back up to change. Your kids are driving you bonkers and won’t get along. It seems like your day would run a lot more smoothly if it started out a little more smoothly. Here are a few ways you can make your morning more simple and stress free so you can start your day out right.
First, set your alarm early. If you know you need to get up at seven o’clock and you are guaranteed to hit the snooze a few times before you can drag yourself out of bed, instead of setting the alarm for 7:00, set your alarm for 6:30. This way you can hit your snooze button a few times without sacrificing precious time in the morning.
Next, be sure to have as much done the night before as possible. If you know that you take way too long to pick out your outfit, have that chosen before you go to bed at night. If you know that making lunches for yourself and three kids has you stressed out every morning, get it done the night before and put them in the fridge. Try to plan ahead so that you have less to do in the morning.
Also, be sure to have some type of breakfast. With everything else you have to do in the morning, breakfast usually gets left out. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it starts your metabolism and gets you the energy you need to be able to get through your busy day. A simple cup of coffee and a piece of toast doesn’t have to be an ordeal. If you have a Jura capresso machine, you can easily make a great cup of coffee without having to spend a lot of time or energy on it. A Jura capresso machine can be a great (and delicious) investment.
And lastly, try to give yourself enough time in the morning to actually sit down and relax; even if it is only for a few minutes. A few extra minutes of sleep isn’t going to do you much good anyway so you might as well get up and give yourself time to sit and enjoy yourself during the most stressful part of your day.
