Homemade Silver Cleaner
Here is a simple homemade silver cleaner that will restore the shine and beauty to your silver jewelry. The first cleaning recipe is the one I have used over and over again with great results every time. Things you will need:
2 cups water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 piece aluminum foil, cut to fit pot
Bring water just to a boil, add salt and baking powder. Place aluminum foil at the bottom of the pot. Place silver jewelry on the foil and leave for 15-30 seconds. Rinse silver jewelry under water then dry with paper towel.

Silver Cleaning Homemade Recipe #2
A coated brownie pan (enameled)
aluminum foil
4 teaspoons of baking soda
4 cups of boiling water
a large glass bowl
a drop of liquid soap
100% cotton soft cloth
Place foil on the bottom of the brownie pan. Lay your silver jewelry pieces on the bottom. Fill brownie pan with water until jewelry is fully submerged. Then sprinkle baking soda over it. Let your silver pieces soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Mix remaining hot water and a drop of liquid soap into a glass bowl. Place your silver in the soapy water and wash. Rinse with clean water and polish dry your pieces with a soft cotton cloth.
Please take care, some solutions that are great for some metals and stones may damage others.
Homemade Silver Cleaner Recipe #3
glass bowl
1 cup of warm water 1/4 cup of ammonia
soft bristle brush
soft lint free cloth
In a bowl mix 1 cup of warm water and 1/4 cup ammonia. Take a soft bristle brush, dip it in the solution and gently scrub. Then put the piece of jewelry into the cleaning solution and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. Remove and rinse with warm water and either air dry or dry with a lint free soft cloth.
Silver Cleaning Recipe #4
bowl (dessert bowl)
1/2 teaspoon liquid dish soap
4 teaspoons ammonia
Rubbing alcohol
soft bristle brush
lint free cloth
In a small bowl mix 1/2 teaspoon liquid dish soap and 4 teaspoons of ammonia together. Place your piece of jewelry in the mixture and let it soak for approx. 5 minutes. Remove the piece of jewelry and take a soft bristle brush and scrub. Rinse with cool water thoroughly. Then dip the jewelry in the rubbing alcohol air dry and polish with a soft lint free cloth.
