Napa Mountain is a family owned business and has had thirty-five years of experience sustainably producing the highest quality organic California dried bay leaves from the finest mountain terrain in Napa. Our company is the largest producer of California bay in the world. Tamara Attard and her family initially founded the company dedicated to quality of our products and our consumer relations. This goal has been accomplished as major spice companies such as Morten Bassett and Spice Islands use our products as a line differentiator due to their visibly superior quality. This commitment to quality resonates from all company interactions, including relationships developed with customers, investors, guests, partners, and associates. We have tens of thousands of native bay trees spread across two thousand acres in Napa, which comprise the tallest and most vast privately owned mountain in California. Since property acquisition on the mountain in 1985, the mission has been to cultivate the land in an organic and sustainable manner and produce the absolute highest quality California bay leaves possible. Our mountain is untouched with stunning views that look as far south as San Francisco, and as far North as Sacramento. Miles of trails span the property, allowing ATVs to be the primary means of transportation on the mountain. The Napa Mountain property consists of beautiful, rolling hills that cover the Solano side of the property, while more dramatic and defined mountain terrain comprises the Napa side. Our location is a culmination of all of California’s finest assets, from the stunning hilltop views, to the native flora and fauna that populate the area, to the rock formations that adorn the land. Napa Mountain is the gateway to nature’s regality. Joan Lewis and her three children were initially drawn to Napa’s mystique thirty-five years ago, which is why the company grows from that location. But, the family resides in Orinda, CA, a small town in the East Bay Area about an hour from Napa and twenty minutes outside San Francisco. So, the company was initially headquartered in Orinda, which is where the main offices remain. Thousands more bay trees and our vacuum machine that we use to dry the spice, in an organic and pesticide-free way, are located in our hometown. Our bay leaves were originally produced for culinary purposes, but customers also use them for lotions, medicines, vitamins, and air fresheners.
