Mangarosa is coming to its 4th year in the heart of North Beach. ITALIAN WITH BRAZILIAN TWIST! The place has a charm of its own with very bright and rich wall color, candle light, and custom made oil paintings done by local artist, Patrick Madden. The name MANGAROSA means pink mango in Portuguese. It is a typical mango very prominent in the Northeast region of Brazil. The name originated with the idea of incorporating tropical flavors in Italian/Californian cuisine. They have added some traditional Brazilian dishes, such as Steak Rechaud, crab and salt cod cakes, and Pao de Queijo cheese bread, as well as some great tropical drinks such as Caipirinha a drink made of lime, sugar, and Cachaca sugar cane alcohol.
SAMBA DANCERS spice it up the night with performances every THURSDAY starting at 7 pm.

on Citysearch May 29, 2007It is very pretty inside, a place that anyone would take a romantic date, and that is what I did. And I don't mind spending good money for good food, but the service was a little cold, and even though the food looked pretty... (more)

on Citysearch Apr 20, 2007Fun place to go drink, not eat. The food was less than average -- the steaks were all bad (5 of us!!). The meat was well below par for a $35 Ribeye. Really. (more)
